Calves that are fed pasteurised milk are healthier and develop more consistently. This is what experience has shown in U.S. dairies, where pasteurising the milk intended for calf diets is common. Pasteurisation allows reducing the bacteria load to less than 0.5% of the load before the process.

An electronic control allows setting the desired pasteurisation cycle. Holm & Laue offers this option in the form of a batch pasteuriser; this means that all the milk is warmed and then positively cooled down again in the same container. As a result, ration preparation, transport, and feeding are carried out in the most compact way with one single unit. A timer makes sure that the milk is pasteurised and ready in the morning and evening when you arrive to feed the calves. You thus also have the benefit of cheaper off-peak power consumption. With optimum timing, warming the milk again to the desired ration temperature is no longer needed.
