The H&L Igloo Verandah provides unheard-of versatility! Because you can fit the wheels in any position you choose, the H&L Igloo Verandah can be moved easily in 4 directions. The calves simply remain locked up in the pen and “travel” in their “mobile home”. This scheme ensures the calves always move to a new, clean location uncontaminated with bacteria.

Excellent Bacteria Control with Change of Location on a Regular Basis
After moving the H&L Igloo with a front loader, you can easily rid the manure with a tractor. This ensures that the calves always move to a new, clean location uncontaminated with bacteria. UV rays, fresh air, and rain are just the natural sanitizing agents of the previous location!

Easy Manure Disposal after the H&L Igloo Verandah Was Moved
To rid the manure, move the H&L Igloo Verandah away on its wheels. The calves simply remain locked up in the pen and “travel” in their “mobile home”. Since the wheels can be fitted in any configuration, the H&L Igloo Verandah allows movement foreward and backward as well as laterally.

Calves Are Free to Choose Where They Want to Be
In addition to the approx. 15m² of space in the H&L Igloo, a further 25m² of roofed space for resting is available to the animals. Thus, the calves are free to choose themselves whether they want to be inside the H&L Igloo, protected from bad weather, or on the bedding spread in the exercise area when the weather is fine.

Multiple Feed Fence Designs
Depending on the location, adapt the position of the feed fencing to what is needed. Side and front segments are interchangeable! Stainless steel tilt-up bunks are standard equipment in this system. Further optional equipments include teat feeder bucket supports, ring holders, hay racks, and fountains.

Plenty of Fresh Air for Healthy Calves
Many dairy operations are confronted with problems of micro-climate in the barn and what may be called “stable-tiredness” in their calves, caused by an increased bacteria load, mainly when calves are born year-round. For several years, the H&L Igloo has been used very successfully. It stands the test of the rude Scandinavian winters of Norway, the stormy autumns of the Netherlands and Germany's West Coast, and also the hot and dry summers of Turkey.

Low Bacteria Load and Much Exercise
Besides the group igloo and the single-calf igloos, the H&L Igloo Verandah comprises a fully roofed feed and exercise area. Thanks to this roof, it is possible both to feed calves dry bulk feed and concentrate and to protect the bedding in the exercise area in front of the H&L Igloo from getting wet.
